You Should Have Been There!
Dallas Fall Postcard and Paper Show
The Warm-up for Wichita

....and a great time was had by all.
On October 7th and 8th, Courthouse Square & Jim Taylor put on the Fall Greater Dallas Postcard and Paper Expo at the Southfork Hotel in Plano, Texas. 30 dealers (many on their way to the Wichita Show) were set up for business. The excellent ballroom was expanded for the Show and business at the gate was strong. The Show exhibited over 19 show boards from members of the Dallas Metroplex Postcard Club as well as from several of the out-of-town dealers themselves. Wally Chariton’s board on Route 66 cards won first place, Roz Lane’s board showing Josephine Baker cards won second place, and Hal Ottaway won third place with his board titled “Chicken in the Rough”. The Dallas Metroplex Postcard Club also introduced their new club card for 2011 showing historic scenes of Dallas done by their club member artist, Gregg Hammond. Elaine Boots photographed the event. (some pictures follow). We had visitors from around the U.S, Europe, and Canada. Our good friends Howie Gottlieb and Barbara Trovei from New York (and Florida) came through, as well as our west coast friend Marty Michaels. Lots of visiting and shopping and then off to Wichita Kansas for the Wichita International Postcard Show and Sale. Dallas Dealers this year included Lee Lanning, TX; Francis Greese, France; Ken Wilson, TX; Kirk McKinzie, OK; ;Jim Taylor, MO; Ned Coleman, TX; Bill Buck, TX; Norm Porter, TX; Bill Burdick, AR; Robert Owen, TX; Wally Charilton, TX; Hal Ottaway, KS; Ralph Bowman(The Paper Gallery), CA; Randy and Jeannie Birndorf, CO; Ove Braskerud, CT; Lynette Beevers, TX; Terry Christensen, TX; George Cook, TX; Jim Mehrer References, IL; Bill Hemmer, TX; Dale Falk, TX; David Crockett, TX; John Butler, NV; IFPD, Demaris Swint, TX; Kent Whitley, TX; Barr's Postcard News, IA; CourthouseSquare Archival Supplies, MO;Robert Smith, TX; Roger Pinckney, TX; Pat Agee, TX.
The Spring Dallas Metro Postcard Club Show is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 2,3, 2012

Ed. Note: We really had a great time in Dallas, and as always, the special help of Elaine Boots, George Cook, Terry Christensen, and Wallace Chariton, deserve all the credit for making this fun show possible.

Hello!
I am always looking for cards of my two favorite towns: Panama City, FL and St. Andrews, FL (a/k/a Saint Andrew, FL). I like all views and eras, but of course the older cards are most desirable! Also, a steamer ship called the Tarpon (which used to sail between Pensacola and Panama City) is another interest of mine. If you have any of these, please let me know and if you don't have any right now, I hope you'll keep me in mind in the future! Thanks so much!
