We received this from Marilyn Shrader, of the Mark Twain Postcard Club, Hannibal MO....she had a good time at the show, and passed on some kind words that we of course appreciate.
The post card collectors of the Mid West would like to thank Jim Taylor for adding the Hannibal, Mo. show to his show calender. This show was held March 9 - 10, 2007. Fifteen dealers from 5 states and postcard collectors from around Kansas City, Mo., St Louis, Central Iowa, Osh Kosh,Wis, Springfield Mo and Springfield, Il. plus many more collectors from the area made the show a success. Also traveling in for the show was "Mr. Branson" from Branson, Mo. He had some interesting stories to tell and very enjoyable to visit with. Lots of cards and many good deals were made.
We were sorry Jerry & Helen Schmidt were unable to be with us. Take care Jerry and get well soon and hope to see you at the next show.
Marilyn
Editors note: If you think you might have a Quincy Illinois card that no one else has, contact Marilyn, I've tried for years to find her something new. She works at it all year round, and rarely finds one she doesn't have. You can email her at: buzmar@insightbb.com. Thanks Marilyn for all your help. Jim T

"I would not be suprised if this book becomes a bible for serious collectors of real photo postcards." -- Bruce Nelson, The Postcard Collector
From the end of the nineteenth century through at least a third of the twentieth century, Americans became avid consumers and collectors of an incredible number and range of photo postcards. The Real Photo Postcard Guide is an informative, comphrehensive, and practical treatment of this photographic genre. This new checklist titled Comic Postcards of WWII has been in the works for the past year, and is ready to go. It also includes large letter military linens. This new and updated list includes considerably more data than previous resources. A helpful feature of this new publication is an index of cards by the inscription on the cards face that indicates the name of the publisher. Since many cards are difficult to identify, this is of great help to the collector. Color illustrations are included to define the style of various publishers, including previously unidentified publishers. This list has been authored by Dr. Thomas O. Garnhart, author of the popular Checklist of Curt Teich Linen Comic Postcards. $29.95 plus p/h. Click here for order info.

WANTED "HALL PHOTO CO." CARDS
I am working on a book about the postcard photographer George E. Hall. He was in business from 1906-1918 and worked exclusively in Stone and Taney Counties, Missouri. He made approximately 900 real photo view cards of the Shepherd of the Hills area which includes the towns of Branson, Hollister, Galena and Reeds Spring. I am seeking examples of his work and would like to purchase what you have. If you have something and do not wish to sell then I would appreciate having a scan or a photocopy of the image. This would help document our checklist of his output. Contact: C. Trenton Boyd 09.06
